DAY FIVE:
This was the first day of the trip that it was overcast. We heard a mild island storm would come in and slight chance of showers. We were able to leave the kids with my parents and head off with Jared, Laura, Justin and Tori to explore the island try to take a few hikes and see some of the famous canyons. The kids built sand castles with my dad and collected crabs from the tide pools. We got to Waimea Canyons, this is suppose to be one of the most beautiful spots on all the islands of Hawaii. UNFORTUNATELY the fog was so heavy on the north side of the island that we couldn't see this! We took pictures at the lookout spot just to have proof we were there. We will have to take another trip and be sure to go before a mild storm comes in. After that we decided to go back to our side of the island which was the southern side and to swim in some of the other pools and hot tub. During that afternoon the hotel offered children's bamboo pole fishing in the lagoon. Nicole and Macoy were able to do that and with the help of Crappa Macoy caught a little fish. That evening David and I took the kids and got burgers and shave ice as our little family of four.
DAY SIX:
On this day the weather was still cloudy but 80 degrees. Even the slight rain was warm, it would rain for 2 minutes and then stop. We couldn't complain. We loaded up as a group and headed to the Kauai Coffee Plantation. There were tables full of different coffee's to taste, different roasts, and flavors. It was pretty cool. I was able to drink as much coffee as my heart desired! After that we went and visited Wailua Falls. David was back at the hotel with a stomach ache. He was able to come and see this the following day. Wailua Falls was breath taking! People can actually hike down and swim in the water under the falls. If When we go back that is something we plan to do. That evening was a big family dinner since my parents, Justin and Tori flew out that next morning and would be getting home a day before us so we made the most of it. The kids fed the koi fish in the pond at the hotel, We had a photo session on the beach of our resort then headed into town for a nice dinner with all us kids treating my parents for taking us to Kauai.
