Boo hoo Santa Claus!

Every year in Willow Glen (just a couple houses down from my grandparents), the corner house does a HUGE Christmas display and donations are given to St. Jude's. Well, annually they have a Santa Claus come and gifts are given away. I took the kids this year. Santa is there from 6:30pm-9:30pm, we arrived early and the line was already starting to get long.  We took turns stepping in and out of line and taking the kids to see the talking Snowman, or singing reindeer. By the time my kids made it up, the elves had already given them buttons and candy canes. Colie got a stamp set, and Macoy got a Winnie the Pooh book. Needless to say, my kids both were terrified by Santa and Mrs. Claus.  As a child I felt the same way. My parents have pictures of my older brother and I. both crying while sitting on Santa's lap... What is it that is so scary about Santa? The white beard? The belly full of jelly? The cheeks rose-red??
