Rapazzini, where we first began

Rapazzini Winery, this place is a small winery off the highway. 6 years and 9 months ago David and I had our very first date there! We tasted wines and bought a bottle to go. The next day he deployed to Iraq and I also left the country and headed to Peru.  We saved that bottle of wine for his return from Iraq. Little did we know that we had only started the rest of our lives together. He came home 6 months and 24 days later (208 days to be exact). Its only taken us almost 7 years to get back to where we began.

We took the time this week and enjoyed some wine tasting thanks to the lovely Groupon I purchased back in December. We tasted about 10 wines, and also tried Garlic Butter spread on a ritz cracker. All I can say is delicious! As we were sipping wines we shared our little love story with the guy working there, he had been at that job for ten years, Dave thought he looked familiar. I couldn't tell. He said "I assume your first date here was a good one". We assured him it did, Married, 2 kids later, bought a house and a dog.

We left with 2 jars of garlic butter, and 4 bottles of wine. We bought 2 bottles of my new favorite which is imported from Italy. The winery only had one case left so we made sure to get 2 bottles. As we left the winery Dave said to the guy, "See ya in another 7 years"! Hopefully we make it back in there before another 7 years passed.  We actually opened one of the jars of garlic butter and had crackers with it, and over green beans.
