Deputy Sheriff's Prayer

This post is short and sweet. Not much to share today.
I do not know who the author is. What I do know is everyday I must remember to pray for the safety of the ones we love. Life is precious.
I saw this prayer online and it brought some happiness in this dark time as Santa Cruz is grieving the loss of two Officers.

 

Deputy Sheriff’s Prayer

 

When I start my tour of duty God,

wherever crime may be,

As I drive the darkened streets,

let me be close to thee.

Please give me understanding

with both the young and old.

Let me listen with attention

until their story’s told.

Let me never make a judgment

in a rash or callous way.

But let me hold my patience,

let each man have his say.

Lord if some dark and dreary night,

I must give my life,

Lord with your everlasting loveprotect my family and wife.
